HELLO, I’m Michele

I’ve had the privilege of photographing over 300 weddings since starting this business in 2004. Nearly every one of them on a mountain somewhere in Colorado. In a nutshell, I’m a girl obsessed with joy…documenting it and pursuing it.

I love this job because it’s bigger than me.  I will never know when the photographs I captured are a source of joy as they’re pulled out of a dusty box and reminisced through decades later.  I’ll never know when they become the beloved framed print that is displayed at a son or daughter’s wedding 30 years from now.  I’ll never know what image sits on an office desk or bedside table reminding that husband or wife how loved they are.  But it’s why I do what I do.

It is an immense honor to be chosen for and trusted with this responsibility.

I am so excited to meet you and your people.  I can’t wait to see what happens.

Perfectly ripe avocados make me happy and 7 other random facts about me…

  • I’ve run four half-marathons and 1 full. Running 26.2 miles was one of the hardest and greatest things I’ve ever done.
  • I got sick of playing the Instagram game and deleted my business account entirely in 2018. I’d rather be outside than on social media.
  • September in the Rockies is my all-time favorite time/place to be alive.
  • I moved to Colorado on my 19th birthday. I was born in California and raised in Arizona but never truly felt at home until I discovered the Rocky Mountains.
  • My dad and husband are both pilots. I absolutely love being around aviation.
  • I’m currently learning Spanish and planning to spend next winter in Baja.
  • After 15 years living in Silverthorne, Mark & I traded our mountain home for a home on wheels.  We spend summer and fall in the mountains then migrate south for the winter. My love of nature, travel and the Mountain West runs deep.

Every couple and family has a story worth preserving in photographs.  People, partners, and families of all kinds, colors, religions, and abilities are celebrated here.

I believe your photographs are only as good as the experience you had with your photographer while they were being made.  Earning your trust, being helpful without hindering, knowing when to be a fly on the wall vs. when to offer direction, these are all of utmost priority in providing you with the best possible experience on your wedding day.

Outside your wedding day, excellent service is priority #1.  Whether it’s by creating little moments of delight, being available to help shape your plans, or consistently offering a quick turnaround, I hope for your entire experience here to be fun and stress-free.

While your photo collection will consist of a wide variety of portraits, details and candids, I believe the authentic moments are what matter most.  I believe photographs of life’s fleeting, unstaged moments are the ones that will only grow in value over time.  Rather than follow trends, my goal is to create meaningful images that will last.

While yours may be my 400th wedding, it’s your one and only.  I don’t take this responsibility lightly and dedicate myself entirely to every couple that trusts me with their story.

I photograph a limited number of events per week to avoid burnout or getting behind.  I put my health first so that I am feeling my absolute best on the day of your wedding.  Whether your day starts at 11am or 4pm, nothing else is ever on my calendar that day.  From prepping gear to organizing timelines and shot lists, clearly communicating with you about what’s important, scouting locations, prepping for weather, and more, I am dedicated to giving you my absolute best.

Your wedding lasts a day.  Your photographs last forever.  Every client deserves the best.

When you choose me to be your photographer, I will share some of my most favorite vendor recommendations with you in hopes to spread the love to other local, small businesses that I want to support.  A win-win-win because a thriving business only feels good when it’s helping others thrive too.

Have you seen my portfolio? It will make you smile.

Get in touch, I’d love to hear from you!

It was so easy to be ourselves around you.

“Thank you so much for these amazing photographs and for making the whole photography process so easy!  How you manage to take such beautiful photos in the speed that you do baffles me.  Taking the family and bridal party photos did not keep us away from the party at all.  We have never been happier and the pictures show it.  It was so easy to be ourselves around you.  Thank you for being a part of it and for providing the photographs that allow us to relive it for the rest of our lives!” -Erin
