Wedding Venues on Colorado’s Western Slope

What is the best time of year for a Colorado wedding?

  • The best time of year for greenery and mild temps: June, July August and September
  • The best time for fall colors in Colorado: The last two weekends of September (possibly the first week of October but snow is possible)
  • The best time of year for discounted rates: mid April to mid May, and October thru mid November
  • The best time of year for a snowy wedding: late December thru late March

Spring in the mountains is typically just a sunnier version of winter. March & April are usually the snowiest months of the year. May is mud season as the snowpack turns to run-off and begins to fill all the rivers and reservoirs. Some time around Memorial Day weekend is when trees start to bloom in the mountain towns. June, July and August are sunny and warm until afternoon thunderstorms pass thru and it cools off. Storms are usually short-lived, clearing by 5:00pm. September is sunny but crisp and cool. The aspens turn gorgeous shades of yellow and gold towards the end of the month but only last a few weeks. Snow storms are possible as early as September but melts off quickly. Snow is expected and will start to stick any time in October. November and December are cold, blustery and dark but no less dreamy when the mountain towns begin lighting and decorating for the holidays.
