Mt Princeton Hot Springs Wedding: Maya & Keri
While weather in the Colorado Rockies is often unpredictable, it’s usually *fairly* safe to say that any inclement weather will pass just as quickly as it appeared. But once in a blue moon the rain rolls in and persists as though the clouds have mistaken Colorado for the Pacific Northwest. Such was Maya & Keri’s luck this past September. A grey, overcast morning evolved to off-and-on showers followed by a steady persistent rain into the evening. We used every little rain-free window we got to quickly step outside and take photos. Then, during a brief clearing it was decided to try and get through their outdoor ceremony before the rain returned. It refused to hold off and their ceremony was subsequently moved indoors.
However, the rain is not what I’ll remember from this day. What I’ll remember is the unencumbered joy that I could feel deep in my bones from the moment I arrived to the moment I left eight hours later. No amount of rain could possibly dampen Maya & Keri’s love for one another. Their day was a profound celebration of love and community and I’m over the moon that I was the one to document their wedding day.
Maya & Keri recently shared with me that when sharing their photos with their Nana she remarked “every photo tells a story”. I couldn’t ask for a higher compliment. While the mountains are a phenomenal place to call my office, it’s not the mountains that make the photos, it’s the love you share with one another and your people that allow me to make photos I hope you’ll cherish deeply for decades to come.
