Buena Vista Elopement: Katie & Adam

While our calendar may consist of more wedding celebrations with 100+ people than it does elopements, the opportunity to photograph a handful of elopements every year is truly special. When I initially spoke with Katie over a video call, I asked her what she was most excited about for the day. Her entire face lit up and she responded with such joy and conviction “I cannot wait to be married to Adam”. She went on to tell me how the complication and expense of planning a large celebration wasn’t something they were interested in. They simply wanted to wed before their parents and in the mountains they love so much, to bask in the glory of a Colorado summer sunset, and then to celebrate…just the two of them. And that’s exactly what they did. After exchanging vows in an aspen grove at Spring Canyon in Buena Vista we drove to the top of Cottonwood Pass where we were met with a magnificent sunset.
