Acadia National Park Sunrise Wedding: Riley & Sara
Mark & I are mountain people through and through, but the magic of the ocean made its way in to our lives more than once in 2022. One of those times being an idyllic August morning in Maine at Acadia National Park. Riley & Sara’s dream was to exchange vows on the water’s edge, as the sun rose at their favorite national park. They could not have planned or executed it any more perfectly.
The day began with a 2:30am wake-up call. Getting ready photos began at 3:30am. The ceremony began at 5:15 and the sun rose at 5:35, almost exactly the moment they were pronounced husband & wife. With the waves crashing against the jagged rocks and the seagulls singing in the distance, it was one of the most memorable ceremonies of my career.
Following their ceremony, we drove around Acadia to some of Riley & Sara’s favorite spots for photos. Later that evening we all reconvened in Winslow at the farm of Sara’s aunt & uncle for an equally beautiful reception. The evening ended with a private fireworks show.
It was a great honor and privilege for Mark & I to be invited in to this family for their entire wedding weekend. Riley & Sara’s palpable joy filled me to the brim. Here’s a peek at just a fraction of the photos we captured for them on that perfect day in August…
