A-basin wedding at Black Mountain Lodge: Meghan & Cole

I would love to take this opportunity to celebrate second marriages.

There’s always something a little extra special in the air at the wedding of a couple who has already wed once before. There’s a lightness in the couple’s energy because they know what they want from a wedding and they know what they don’t; and they’re only willing to put effort into what matters most to them. At the same time there’s deep sincerity a couple shares at their second wedding and you can feel that these two people are not entering into another union lightly.

Enter Meghan & Cole. Our first phone conversation was delightful and filled with so much ease. Meghan wanted a few fun photos of her and Cole’s wedding but mostly she wanted photos of their dogs. That’s all I need to know to know that I’m the photographer for you.

On the summer solstice Meghan & Cole wed at Arapahoe Basin’s Black Mountain Lodge. Only a few times in my career have I witnessed such electricity between a couple, not to mention between a couple and their community. I spent the day doing what I do best, simply observing and preserving all the beautiful moments of love and laughter that were on constant display.

It was an absolute honor to be a part of this day. Here are a few of my favorite moments from their epic mountain wedding.

It took me a while to get this review down on paper because I honestly wasn’t sure how I could actually convey how big of a part Michele played on our wedding day and in the memories she’s captured forever. Aside from the part about marrying my soulmate with all of my favorite people and dogs present, Michele was my second favorite part about my wedding and planning. A cool, calm, and authentic human, she blended in amongst the party and captured images I never thought possible. She was plug and play; I told her what I wanted and she figured it out from there. And aside from her obvious talent, you should know that she’s just a really good person. Our dogs are a very big part of our lives and without question were going to be a very special part of our day. When we lost two of them just a month before our wedding, she celebrated them with us and honored them with a very thoughtful gesture in support of animal rescue. I am going to find a million reasons over the years to have our pictures taken just so we can have a reason to keep Michele around. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for capturing these memories.
